Subject: A little help! Modeling outfit for Poser use

ayanematrix ( ) posted Mon, 09 November 2009 at 1:51 PM · edited Sat, 11 January 2025 at 12:05 AM

First off, I'm sorry if this is considered cross posting being that I've posted much of this on blenderartists.org. I've was hoping that posting works in progress renders of my project that I could get help when I got stuck, though that has sadly proven to not be the case. Which brings me here...

For the most part, I have been modeling an outfit of the character Medusa Gorgon from the anime/manga series titled Soul Eater (some reference images can be seen at this page, though word of warning if you're not a fan of the content focus).

I have the base outfit done and have moved onto modeling her hair, but I can't seem to get it right! I've done several iterations of the hair model, but I honestly have no clue what I'm doing. 😕

You can see what I've done so far over at my blog as reposting a ton of images here doesn't seem to be the best way to do things for much of what I've posted already.

Any help in this area would be greatly appreciated and, if need be, I can upload my blend file for a more in depth look.

Sigh... Anyway, here's a current render of where I am currently.

Try this hair tutorial out as I think you may find it helpful.  It uses hexagon as the modeling program but the process is easily transferable to Blender.  The link to the pdf tutorial is in the first post on the forum that I have provided the link to.

The sad thing is that I was doing that method of modeling hair in a previous step, but it didn't seem to pan out. Plus, the texture's I made didn't work.

Oy... I guess I'll go back and see what else I can do.

Oh well... finally managed to get it worked out on my own. Still need to figure out how to get it working as dynamic cloth in Poser 6 and 7 though.
