Quote - I very much could use a developing country type scene/interior such as shown in this photo of FileWada Mumbai above.
Hmmm? Now you have me thinking on that one myself.. It would take a lot of planning and random object creating before one could start to develop the scene... Is there any particular reason your thinking of developing such a scene? Don't shout if i'm being nosey (grin!)

My family is generally of very modest means -- because of circumstances and milieux generally production workers. My father came to North America after serving in the military in his country and made a modest living as a mechanic before he died young. I went to university and post-graduate studies on scholarship and working factory jobs etc. before becoming a professional. My family on both sides is distributed between North America, Caribbean, Central America, the Mediterranean, Middle East and Africa. I never see Poser scenes that reflect this sort of working class setting of the family I have visited and stayed with when I was younger. This Mumbai setting is a little bit more modest than most of the homes of my family but still pretty close.I think their are any number of reasons why people would want nice Indian or African or Caribbean or in my particular case Middle Eastern everyday working class settings to tell narratives and make images. The colors of things are often much more vivid and interesting for that matter than what you find in America and Europe and certainly people's homes have lots of detail and furnishing in the clutter that are interesting and would make great Poser props: eating trays, rice sifters, kerosene stoves, plastic buckets, fine carved and gilded European chairs for guests and of course chickens running in and out of the house. Maybe a goat or sheep tethered out by the kitchen door or by the stairs.
Also contemporary clothes as worn in different countries would be nice too. In many places people wear pajamas outside and shopping and loose clothes like galabias and the men casual head wraps and the women tightly wrapped head scarves quite different from the "Biblical" clothes I have found for Poser.
I used to do commercial illustration with Poser years ago and would rig the clothes and hair in as primitives that I would painter over completely in post-work to create regional clothing and everyday hair styles but really in my opinion Poser needs more everyday ordinary stuff as opposed to all the glut of luxury and fantasy products. It is funny, at DAZ the only realistic style hair is for Carrara not Poser :(
Reika has two wonderful Japanese apartments priced so modestly in the store here... imagine similar apartments modeled after those found in other countries! Even in the USA most apartments I have stayed in date from the 1930s through 1950s.
I am not finding on Google images of ordinary apartments and homes. I guess people who travel as tourist see mainly hotel rooms and restaurants and stores and clubs... there is no occasion to see the actual homes that normal people live in. Even in a rich place like Tokyo or New York City most people live in small cluttered older apartments. In New York I lived in Manhattan at one time but over the years have stayed in apartments in the Bronx, Harlem, Queens and Brooklyn... mainly in more modest areas that working people inhabit and only occasionally in the fancy homes of the super rich. Rarely is the normal reality shown on television or in movies yet it is how most people live. When I was living and working in rural New England people likewise lived in cheap apartments from the 50s or 70s not the pretty white house with picket fences that people imagine to occupy rural areas.

Sivana, maybe this? Also an older set available at this site. Many excellent detail props at this site. There are many types of cell phone props around. You can place in the figure's hand and then parent and save to Prop Library as parented prop.
There are some free cell phones you can find with this search: http://www.whatever3d.com/search.ez
Ultimately I'm looking for something that interests me as well as a desire by the community. So I'm setteling on the Oriental garden theme. Here's a quickie scketch that shows what I have planned, a modest sized bridge with small rock/step landings at either end.
If you think you have an idea to contribute in regards to this theme, sound off...no promises though.
HiHo, HiHo...off to model I go! :D
