Subject: How do you apply .mc6 to models?

ringer33609 ( ) posted Sat, 05 December 2009 at 10:04 PM · edited Mon, 27 January 2025 at 6:53 PM

I'm using Poser 6.  I just bought a character that has no MATs in the Pose folder.  Instead they're  in the Materials folder in the .mc6 format.  Where do you go on the Parameter window (or any other window) to apply these to the model?

Thanks,
Eric

This is one of Poser's little gotchas.  You have to be in the Material Room to apply the
MC6 or  MT5 files.  As soon as you switch to the Material Room, you'll see the Materials
category appear on the Library.

Its just like applying a mat pose, have the figure or prop selected and apply the mc6 collection.

And in Poser 8 you even don't need to enter the Material Room, you can do it fromout of the Pose Room. Or you can use Tools like P3dO Explorer or Advanced Library where you can use mc6 and mt5 also from this tool to add the textures in Poser.

Thank you for your input, but this isn't how the Mac version of Poser 6 seems to work.  When I move to the Materials Room the Library window disappears.  The only kind of texture I can apply in the Materials Room is .jpg.   Unless I'm not seeing something this may be a feature on later versions only.

The library should be in material room in Poser 6. It may just hidden behind the Shader Window or if the library is closed you can open it by clicking on its handle or from the main menu Window>Libraries.
