Hi!

bJust returned to Poser ,I bought Poser 8 and it is pretty impressive.

Does anybody out there know if Poser figures and such can be brought into Houdini 3D? This seemed like the logical place to ask since I can't find a Houdini forum.

Any help appreciated!

Tony

You can check it out here:

http://www.sidefx.com/index.php

It has a VERY good pricing policy for non-commercial use.

Some info ca 2008 on getting Poser (7) content into Houdini:

Guess I can answer my own question. Houdini has collada import capabilities so it shouldn't be a problem.

*"Houdini has collada import capabilities so it shouldn't be a problem."

*If Poser 8 has Collada export then presumably so. I seem to recall reading of various levels of success in Collada exchange between various applications - though I may be thinking of something else. Probably best to try it with the free version first if using Poser content is your main reason for buying Houdini.

  • It has a VERY good pricing policy for non-commercial use*.

But did you see the actual price of the version which allows you to exchange files with other users? About as much as a pretty nice used car.

I'm not going to be using it for Barbies so it should work out fine.
