Subject: Poser 6 - what's the limit on number of runtime files again?

MaterialForge ( ) posted Thu, 31 December 2009 at 5:45 PM · edited Wed, 29 January 2025 at 11:49 PM

I used to know that number - wasn't it somewhere around 16,000 files? Recently Poser 6 is freezing right after launching. (fresh install of the app and content).

I think it's either I've hit the limit on number of files or the latest round of Automatic Updates from the Empire did the trick. ;)

Thanks!

There's no limit. Startup just takes long then there's a lot of items in the selected library.

I don't think that there is a limit, at least not at 16.000 files. Even on Poser 6, I had much more. Slow on startup, but not much more.

Thanks folks. Doing some more investigating tonight and leaning towards a hardware issue. Luckily I've still got warranty coverage. Photoshop is doing the same exact thing, and my graphics tablet also just stops working intermittently. System also just ignored my attempts at shutting down earlier and I had to use the power button to turn it off.

I think I'll name it HAL. :)

Going to reformat and reinstall first just to make sure there's not any software conflicts.
