Subject: Public address of gallery?

 Hi,

sorry if it has already been explained, but I've tried to search it in the forums without success.

I know there is a "public" address for our galleries. I mean, a link visible to everyone without the need to login. But, I don't remember the syntax. Can someone help? Thanks!

Giorgio

Are you sure about this? As far as I know, gallery viewing requires a login.

it does...I've posted things in other forums that people have reported back that they have to join (some people are squeamish about joining things for a limited reason; but it's a funny old world...;)
The servers are in Tennessee, but that's probably not what you were asking about...;)

Galleries used to have a public address for individual artists, but that's gone away. That's a shame because it discourages casual browsing by people that aren't Rendo members. It makes it that much harder for Rendo artists to be noticed. Artists have to start a gallery elsewhere to be seen.

People don't like to register for sites when they only want to look at something.  It's a bother to do. Most registrations are a double step effort--registering at the site, checking email, and clicking a verification link to confirm a valid email address. Unless there's something at a site that I really want, I won't bother going through all that stuff even if it only represents five minutes of my time. I don't need another password to remember. I certainly wouldn't register for a site just to look at images.

Once I start get back into creating new images, I'll have to start another gallery at a more public site.

That's why I have my own gallery. :)

I'm sure they've thought long & hard about it at some point -- but, at face value, it would seem that requiring registration for gallery views would be somewhat counter-productive.

Given some of the content, it keeps them out of trouble. I remember RuntimeDNA was blocked for a time by one of the services that some businesses use to keep people from going to porn sites at work. Imagine what some blue noses might think about some stuff here.

If you use the "Share This" feature, you can post a link to a specific render.
But this is only through certain social networking sites.  I just tested mine through the "Myspace" site and it brought me to picture logged in as "Visitor"

yeah...if I want to show stuff from  here, I have to export it, send it to  'bucket, then take the link from there.
Kidan defeats the purpose of getting people to come here...
