THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: Bryce 5.5c won't recognize install folder (Mac)

I also posted this at DAZ but will try here also:

(I know the recommendation will be to upgrade, but 6.3 will not install on my Macs, even though the system requirements are up to snuff. The installer just won't complete. So...instead of fighting it any more I'm trying to build a mini render farm on my 3 older imacs running OS 10.4.11

When I attempt to run the Bryce 5.5c installer it will let me choose an Install folder, but won't keep the selection when it gets back to the main install screen. Instead it sees the Install Location as "^D"

No external disks, CD's, or disk images are mounted.

If I just click Install, it tells me the "The selected disk named Network does not have enough free space. Please select another disk"

???

Selecting "Macintosh HD" and then "Applications" folder does nothing.

Anyone run into this? I've only used up to Bryce 4 on my Macs until now.

I'd like to get Bryce 5.5 onto my Macs to make use of them, but I just keep hitting one roadblock after another. It took a lot just to install their OS updates, browsers etc - total PITA - but I got through it and they're now up well within spec to run either Bryce 5.5 or 6.3, but something is keeping these installations from running.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Starting to think it's a sign to run far away from anything Mac, lol...

Thanks!
