I also recommend you watch the printing in color video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zXe8ZahGLOA Ray Maxwell does an awesome job explaining technical subjects that you can understand even if you are not too technical.
I didnt realize how much thought goes into Printing and that Little inkjet printer that sits on your desk.
He talks about when Light reflects off the paper how it reacts with the ink that is on the paper and how we perceive that color.
Well, generally speaking the show touches on interesting and important points on color theory as it pertains to monitors and printers. Having freelanced in cover art and using Adobe Photoshop as my editing package I’m familiar with most of what is being talked about in this show. So topics such as RGB, CMYK, LAB color profiles, color gamut are not new to me as it pertains to printing. When doing art work using Photoshop whether it is 3D compositing or straight up digital art painting my work is mostly done in the RGB profile with CMYK gamut enabled. This allows me to view the colors as they should appear in print. And before sending out the finished product to the client I do a convert color profile to CMYK operation knowing that this will give me a final product that is close to the colors viewed on my monitor.
The show was quite informative and great if you’re new to color theory and printing. Some of the points I found most interesting were; the difference between Stochastic screening and AM screening, and the explanation on the use of the 32 channel Spectrophotometer which reads 10 nanometer color slices and the colorimeter. I use nothing but Epson and I’ll certainly be looking into the Epson 4880 which he mentions towards the end. Thanks for the link.

Its a video by Ray Maxwell on the TWIT Show.
He talks about 3D Technology, but he makes an interesting point, that with new technology, engineers are trying to get rid of the faults from old movie technology, like Grain, Vertical Jitter and 24fps instead of 30 FPS, and here we are trying to put those faults back in, because the Digital World is too perfect.
