Subject: DCG EnhanceC plugin

bwtr ( ) posted Sun, 21 February 2010 at 4:52 PM · edited Wed, 09 October 2024 at 5:08 AM

The more I play with this great plugin the more I realise how much I still have to learn about the Carrara shader tree workings.

In particular at the moment, any help and advice on realising the potentials of the EnhanceC Fractals would be appreciated.

I have to concur with you about EnhanceC and the other plug-ins from DCG Brian. You can do a lot with the provided EnhanceC example materials just by substituting different noises and using different colors. EnhanceC noises work wonders in Conjunction with Terrain Tools.

Stupid question, but where are plugins installed to in Cararra?

bwtr ( ) posted Thu, 25 February 2010 at 9:39 PM

They install themselves into all the various individual locations where thier individual workings require.
Initially, you paste the 3 parts that comprise the plugin into the Extensions folder of Carrara app folder.
The Enhance C group for example become accessable within the dropdowns for the Shader Tree.

Thanks. I have a couple of zips I'd like to try out. I've been eyeing the dcg plugins, those look tasty!

Once you have them you wonder how you ever survived without!

The Sparrowhawke ones are free

I would put the DCG Shader Ops and Shaders Plus amongs the first to get perhaps.
