Subject: creating a straight walk path for figure?

Is there any way to make a perfectly straight walk path for a character? Personally im tired of trying to adjust a walk path to go straight, but it keeps curving and curling up on me

Can you draw the walk path in the top view ? that would help keep it straight.

Otherwise do a walk in place, and then with IK off, apply a translate to the hip to match the step length.  remeber to record the keyframe.

First ...

Hold down the "Alt" key and click on all the intermediate dots in the walk path to delete them.

Then ...

Adjust the dots (at both ends but outside the walk path) to make the path perfectly straight.

Q. How do you know it is red if it is invisible?

Does it not look like this? (see image above)

Geeps's method will work, but there is an even quicker easier way to make a straight walk path. Select the path, from its parameters pallet select the xScale dial, click on the number field below the dial and enter the number zero. This will give you a straight path!

Alright it works! Thank you!

P.S.
You can save a walk path to a props pallet for future use.

Thanks to both Dr Geep and lesbentley for adding another couple of nuggets to my poser knowledge.
