Subject: Antonia Developers...Can you help fix V4?

Mark@poser ( ) posted Fri, 05 March 2010 at 12:01 PM · edited Thu, 30 January 2025 at 9:31 PM

I saw where Corvas re-released the V4 arm pit fix, and I thought to make a request/suggestion along those lines to the clever people who hang out at this forum.

I've been watching and amazed for months with the work on Antonia. I recall a lot of the motivation for her development stemmed from the issues with V4. I've put a lot of work into V4 over the past few months (primarily face morphs), and I've gotten to where I like using her. The problem is I am too limited beyond that to fix her other issues. While I realize some fixes are probably not likely for her (she is Daz's property and you can't fix her and then resell her), I sincerely believe some of Antonia's developers could apply their skills to to help V4 out a little more and make themselves some money. I would really like to see some modifications / morphs (whatever they would be) to change her body type. Primarily, I would like to see:

1) A longer neck

  1. Wider shoulders

  2. Taller chest

  3. Shorter height hip

While some of these can be manipulated by working the scaling settings, as most of you know this causes strange distortions to happen. I would think these fixes would be some type of FBM, but again, I'm not knowledgeable about that. I think I have all the DAZ morphs and can not find these amongst them. I'm sure others have things they'd like to see to.

Thanks for your time

Mark

Yes, scaling is not a good solution, you may want to modify the rig, but if you modify the rig, it may not behave like V4 anymore, many clothing that fit her originally may not work.

Sit tight for a bit. I believe Cage is working on a killer python script that will allow you to use V4 facial morphs on Antonia. Not to mention V3 and V2 as well. Check it out:

It starts to get really interesting after page 3!

Aye. Any dramatic alteration to the body will require some serious third party support. There are content creators who have done serious reworking of V4 (Aery Soul and Blackhearted), and that's quite popular, but it only works because they and others have been willing to support the revamped figures with clothing etc. It's pretty much a futile task if you don't have cooperative agreement on that particular front, I think.

Exactly! I can see myself making commercial content for DAZ figures at some point in the future, but probably not this, or even next, year. Maybe phantom3D is interested. If he did a new rig for V4, that would be quite something. But that's basically like making a new figure, so all the existing clothes would have to be adapted.

If V4 had a totally new rig (which she needs in order to shed all the magnets), wouldn't that also effect the morphs (at least a little)?

AFAIK, strictly rigging doesn't affect the mesh, so I don't see how morphs would be affected.
