Hi all! I apologize in advance; this is as much a Photoshop question as it is a Carrara one... I just read an article about using matte objects for layering purposes and I can't for the life of me get this to work! In a nutshell, a matte object is used when you're rendering objects in your scene separately and one object appears both in front of AND behind another. When the pros have to render hair for example, they prefer to render the hair on a separate pass to speed up rendering time and get around depth of field issues. To properly composite things, the figure is used as a matte object by changing its shaders. I tried a few different approaches, but no dice so far. The attached image should better explain what I'm trying to do. Is this even possible in Carrara? Thanks!
