Subject: Error w/ Poser 8 figure setup!!!

Shaaz786 ( ) posted Thu, 15 April 2010 at 12:56 PM · edited Wed, 23 October 2024 at 1:24 AM

I have Poser 8 newly purchased, but when starting the IDE, a skeleton blue figure appears!  I would like to change it to a normal male/female model figure instead like in P5.  When I select the content paradise in content tab, get the following error :
Content Paradise is currently unavailable

  • The Content Paradise Web site may be undergoing maintenance, or
  • The Content Paradise Web site may be experiencing technical difficulties, or
  • You may need to establish an Internet connection (required for Content Paradise)

Please check that an Internet connection is available, and then click here to try to connect to Content Paradise again.

If the problem persists please try again later.

Content Paradise

I have the following files for the models downloaded from daz:
ps_pe069_Victoria4
ps_pe069_Victoria4PwrLoader
ps_pe069_Victoria4DS
ps_pe027_Stephanie
8783_1_ds_Michael4Presets_1
7877_2_ds_M4Base
7877_3_dpc_M4BasePwrLoader

What are all these files, I run them & extract but nothing happens!!!
Please advise where to load a new normal figure in P8???

V4, M4 and Stephanie require to be installed into the P8 root folder.  There is no need to enter the Content Paradise tab, that is exclusively to access their website.  The only installers you should use are:

ps_pe069 Victoria 4
ps_pe027 Stephanie
7877_2_ds_M4Base

They will appear in the Figures Category, under !DAZ People after installation.

I installed the above 3 files on Poser 8 & as in the installation  wizard specified root dir & than for Daz/content folder, but now Daz crashed & Poser 8 still unable to find/locate figures models in any of the tabs !!!  If anyone can guide me how to install the above figures on both platforms, I would grealty appreciate it?
And do I need to uninstall or re-install the Daz ?  Start from Scratch.

I have a similar problem, eventually I just gave up and focused on the poser figures

With P8 the main content Runtime isn't in the program folder unless you choose that option when installing (the default is to use a shared directory) check the ReadMe for details.
