Subject: Send DAZ a Message

Niles ( ) posted Thu, 15 April 2010 at 4:44 PM · edited Tue, 21 January 2025 at 10:44 AM

If you want to send DAZ a message that they will understand, Try this:
Download K4 base then buy the Morphs, try them in POSER. If you you do not like them
     Return them.
*Do this even if you have no interest in any kid models...
*It might help if you eagerly waiting for:
Steffy 4
David 4
Vic 5
Mike 5
or any new models they may be coming out with.
Daz, as much as they want to be the only game in town , They are not!

For me most of my purchases of late have been directly due to CrossDresser (or WW) and Texture Convert .
If you think this is too much trouble ... think of the trouble and time it will cause DAZ.

 Or DAZ can just come out and say;
           Not for use in Poser

Umm, yeah, an organized campaign to disrupt their business should make them favorably inclined. Brilliant idea!

The 30 day no question return policy is one of the best things about Daz.  By all means complain through the user feedback options but lets not screw up Daz support needlessly.

Daz already has some items not for use in Poser, like the toddler.

They are the primary source of figures that get vendor support. I have Miki 2 and have not found a decent skin texture for it yet :(

I'll just protest with my wallet ;o). The lost sales will probably hurt them more than anything anyway.

I know the kids 4 debacle is not funny to a lot of people, but reading all the threads makes me chuckle.  How about lesson learned and start supporting other content creators who do better work for Poser?

Edit: The more support others get, the more textures, clothes etc will be made for their figures.

Dave-So ( ) posted Thu, 15 April 2010 at 8:25 PM

i was pretty much ignoring the new kids. mine are all grown..don't need no more.
but..so you;re saying they don't work in Poser?

free kids would have been in my runtime sooner or later if i had a whim to do some lolipop guild or some such ...

If you return them you get a gift certificate, so the money still gets spent at DAZ...

I'm quite happy with the new kids - lord knows there is nothing else even close to as good as them.  I mean; Ben and Katie?  Really?

mike1950 ( ) posted Thu, 15 April 2010 at 9:47 PM

Mil3 kids wipe the floor with these new ones, and I dont need spend any more money. Cool.

Niles ( ) posted Thu, 15 April 2010 at 9:59 PM

There is nothing wrong with returning or getting a refund for the product if you Try it, and it does not work for you.
I have them, tried them, and still can get anything useable. Maybe there will be K4-sr1?

I have been buying from DAZ since day one, platineum Club memeber since day one, and I have never ask for return on anything, sometime just hoping the would make a fix or update.

Treasurer_and_Battle ( ) posted Thu, 15 April 2010 at 10:19 PM

Yea, I remember Penny and Will - they are actually still there in my runtime as Poser Legacy content somewhere.  But I don't find them near as good as K4.  And while I was a big fan of Matt 3, I am finding some good improvements with K4.

And I wish they didn't call it K4 - K4 is a mountain in Pakistan.

mike1950 ( ) posted Thu, 15 April 2010 at 10:21 PM

The K4 figures look like little frankenstein with all the broken parts. Single axis scaling, what rubish.

Treasurer_and_Battle ( ) posted Thu, 15 April 2010 at 10:29 PM

Only the the toddler - K4 works fine for me in PoserPro 2010.  Show me a better child figure and I'll buy it.

phantom3d said in the thread "finally" that he is working on some kids, but who know when they will get done.  Here www.renderosity.com/mod/forumpro/showthread.php

And I know all his stuff scales right.

Treasurer_and_Battle ( ) posted Thu, 15 April 2010 at 11:02 PM

I'm sure that his kids would be great.  He has high standards and I've seen the stuff he's done.  I'm looking forward to his Brad character and if he puts kids out there, you can bet I'll be a booster.  But until there is something else, DAZ has the best kids on the market.

LaurieA ( ) posted Thu, 15 April 2010 at 11:11 PM

Daz does have the best kids on the market...Matt and Maddie ;o).

Treasurer_and_Battle ( ) posted Thu, 15 April 2010 at 11:20 PM

I'm  big fan of Matt having done dozens of renders with him in it, but I have found a lot about the Kids 4 to like.

LaurieA ( ) posted Thu, 15 April 2010 at 11:26 PM

Also, since Daz didn't support Matt and Maddie much, there are bunches of clothes for the little ones on some of the Japanese sites (who did seem to like them enough to support them and were nice enough to give the clothes away for free).

I'm always happy when Daz comes up with one less reason for me to waste my money, and they've been pretty consistent about that for a long time now.

If you have a problem with Daz, go tell it on one of the Daz forums.

Because your post here comes across as nothing more than an attack on Daz.

You don’t give any details as to what your problem is, just that you don’t like them.
No Daz is not the only player in town, most know that, but they are onw of the biggest.

So if people did follow your idea, what do you think would happen?

Yes Daz would take notice. Yes Daz would change the way they do things.
But not in the way you think/hope. It would change the 30 day money back and make it a lot harder to get a refund. So how many people do you think would thank you for that?

I Dont think Daz would change their refund policy because
this emotional Crusade to "punish" them  Suggested by the OP
will not be undertaken by any signfigant number of buyers.

Despite the Virtual Chest beating &table pounding you might see in a thread like this there will be no angry mob of villagers storming castle DAZ
with torches & pitchforks in hand.

DAZ  Strategy is what it is.
I have yet to see anyone here even claim their professional livelihood is affected
by some new "3D kid model"that is not compatible with poser.
and even if it  did you have to resolve yourself to finding alternatives.

**Stop Stop Stop!
**It is their return policy, and if you are not happy with it return it.
I bought it and I am trying to use it, if there is no progress or a Sr1 to fix it I'will Return it!
If you do not Have K4 and the morphs and have not tried them (in Poser) you have no right to tell me I'm shotting myself in  the foot by doing so.
The details have been discussed , if you scale them they break, if you use the morph to scale  the head it screws up the neck, if use the moph "scale legs" it screws up the ankles.

Right... Honest Mistake  Return it before 30 days get a $$$refund$$$.

BUT now there are Multiple threads here and at DAZ WARNING poser users that this latest release of figures was Not engineered for poser

So why would one Exhort  people  to Buy something with full knowledge that it wont work for them.???

 OK, ENOUGH.

First of all, this "campaign" is blatantly a violation of our TOS.

NO SITE WARS.  PERIOD.

If you have a problem with the way DAZ does things, do what I did.  Write them, explaining why you're not purchasing the product(s) in question.  Not only is it the proper mode of complaint, but it won't arbitrarily lead to punishing OTHER PEOPLE.  You think that buying the product, then returning it, just because the Toddler won't work in Poser won't have a negative effect?  If I were them, I'd cut back the return policy if it were being abused.

I'm locking this thread, as it didn't start out productive in the first place.
