Subject: Can a .obj part be locked in the vertex room?

Hi gang, there is a thread in the Poser section in making garmets for figures and I'm just attempting it for the first time.  When I import the portions of the figure I need as the manikin into Carrara and select say the chest into the vextex room for conversion, how do I keep its vertices faces etc from reacting with the Box, cylinder etc placed over it for shaping.  I read that in Wings, you can lock the figure so it doesn't interfere when you begin pusing and pulling the box whatever vertices?  Jan

 Hi Plutom,

Carrara doesn't have a mesh locking feature. However, this is why (as of C7) users have the ability to work with vertex meshes directly in the Assembly Room. You will be able to see and work around other meshes while only working and being able to select from one.

Mark, thank you for your reply, really appreciate it and now I know one of the advantages that C7 has over C5 (in the way of modeling).  Jan
