Subject: Vue 8 installation error on Windows 7 x64

I'm trying to install Vue 8 Complete trial edition on my new Windows 7 x64 machine.

The installer launches the Visual C++ 2005 x64 runtime and after the progress bar reaches the end, throws up an error and the whole installation fails. (Error code 3010)

The machine has the runtime already installed, and reinstalling it manually has not worked either.

Anybody seen this problem?

Error code 3010 means the computer wants a reboot.  Maybe try that and see if it helps. 

Are you right-clicking the exe and selecting run as administrator?

 Peggy, you are a super star.

It had gone and sucked down some more Windows updates while I was doing other things. After a reboot, the installer worked fine, and I'm now rendering one of the sample scenes.
