please forgive me for brekaing a forum rule about using large images, it's necessary to show this :)
I did this pic's SFX, using Photoshop brushes, each on it's own layer, white colour, applying a Layer Style, either Outer glow with a noise gradient, or gradient overlay again with a noise gradient

alas, Photoshop brushed after Photoshop7, cannot be used by those apps, unless you do a conversion to png, then import and save as an app specific brush :/
i.e. if it's a CS brush, forget it unless you want to do a lot of work, meh.

Is there something similar to After Effect and the like for postwork ?
Like adding explosions, lightning, and basically anything else I may want to ?
...BUT, for stills, not animations ?
