Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 11 8:37 pm)
If you have a Runtime folder somewhere in your Daz Studio installation, you should be able to add that as an external runtime.
Some products may need to be reinstalled (V4/M4 for instance will most likely require it)
Welcome to Poser :)

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA
Using Poser since 2002. Currently at Version 11.1 - Win 10.
Wow... that was quick! :)
Many thanks for taking the time to answer my question.
I hope you don't mind me asking a little further. :) So do I just use the "add library" icon folder and direct it to my daz content folder (or does it need to go to the Runtime Folder instead).
Also, if I reinstall My M4/V4 characters and outfits, etc. I presume on the install I tell it I want the poser format. Do they just go to the "daz content" folder to or do I have to redirect it to the "runtime" folder, or does it matter.
Again sorry for these silly questions, but I just can't wait to get going in poser now. :)
Incidentally, while I've had a good time using Daz3d I just can't believe how much easier it is to actually pose figures in Poser! (no pun intended).
Thanks for making my day,
Rob.
The Add Library feature requires a runtime folder to already exist within your target folder. Do not point it to the actual runtime.
Reinstallation of M4/V4 will ask for a destination folder, and, from my experience, it will not automatically assume. Just be certain that a runtime folder does exist within.
BTW, no such thing as a silly question.
Sorry to hiack your thead Robmobius but I still do not know how to add my DAZ content other then to re-install...
Is there a very simple, step by step how to somewhere?
Thanks kindly....
Ken
PS: I do know where the ADD Library icon is... I just don't follow what to do after I locate it... What folder of the DAZ content do I point to? etc...

Hey all,
I'll probably get slapped around the head for asking such a noob question - so I'll apologize in advance. :)
Okay, a few months ago I took the plunge and started getting into Poser/Daz. At first I found Poser Pro pretty intimidating so I went for Daz. Now, I'm still very new to this, and have loads to learn, but Daz was allowing me some decent results in a short space of time. However, I've started to try and expand my library buy purchasing stuff from here (as some of the stuff is just so cool). From what I can see there's more option for Poser regarding content, etc.
So now that I have installed Poser on my machine, could someone please advise me on how to add my Daz/Renderosity content to it. Do I have yo set up a new runtime and reinstall everything again for Poser? And if so how would you advise me to set up a new Runtime?
Many thanks,
Rob.
