Subject: Poser to Carrara Bump?

TheMentalDude ( ) posted Thu, 03 June 2010 at 5:28 PM · edited Wed, 08 January 2025 at 2:39 AM

 Hi

I have been googling for quite some time today on how to work out how to change the bump with a package that was made for poser/studio and set it so it has the right amount of bump in Carrara, but have kept coming up short, i know there is a bit of work involved so i am wondering if anyone has any links to tutorials i could read that may help me.

Thanks

Go to the shader room and open a shading domain you want to modify. Click on the very top of the shader tree. All the sub-shaders show below it. Look to the right and you will see the bump intensity listed. This must be set to some percentage other than zero for the bump to show.

I know how to change the bump, what i am asking is how do i work out how much to change it, some places i have read say i need to look at the size of the map and quality to work out how much bump to add in carrara

As a rule of thumb, 3 percent works pretty well.

OK so if its 5% it becomes 8%, will give it a go with a picture i have in mind :-)
