Subject: OT: 16-Core PC?

As I was browsing through some 3D Magazines in Chapters, I saw a contest where you could win  a 16-core Render PC that retailed for $2100 or something.

Would something like that work with WIndows and Carrara?

I suppose that would depend on the architecture of the rig.  If it's standard x86/x64 complaint yes.  If it's something else, maybe but probably not.  Could you send up a link to details on it?

Would it be this one from 3D World number 130 (tenth anniversary issue magazine)?

Link to the contest, which is available to entrants outside the UK and closes in August.

If not, have a go anyway, this one's a 12 core worth approx $6100.
