Lo all,

Can someone tell me how to create a soft glow around an object?
i have tried the old copy the object scale it up and use transparency etc, but the edges are too harsh, i need soft glow around he object and control over the radius of the glow also.

look into Volumetrics in the manual, not something I've really messed with much myself since I got started.  Bagginsbill's "artistic lens" shader (search the forum for it) might be able to do something like this as well, but I don't think it would be specific to a single object without quite a bit of tinkering.

It might be easier and heaps quicker to render that object separately and then post-process in Photoshop or the GIMP.

thanks all :D

good old poser render engine............
glowing objects are a single click in c4d, and most other renderer's i expect.
at the moment glow is added in AFX, but it would be nice to be able to it in one.

what do you want, a 125 dollar app that has all the power and features of a 1500 dollar app?  Of course they don't compare all that well, duh.
