Subject: Suggestions for using lights to create afterburner flames on the back of aircraf

Something I currently playing around with inside Poser 7 is on the back of the a ship create a nice afterburner type glow. Now I know I can use the ambience node in the material rooms to make it glow but is it best to put some sort of light attached to the burner part I want to glow to create the light effect?

Or is there a better way to do this?
