Subject: (OT) Asking for some good karma, please!

Greetings to all,

last week my mother dropped to the floor unconscious for a cardiac arrest. She was in hypoxia for more than four minutes, and saved at the last second by an awesome couple of medics who performed emergency CPR.

Unbelievably (after all, she's 80 years old), she had no neurological consequences. Now she's in hospital and this morning the medical staff will perform a coronary catheterization to check her heart status, possibly followed by a percutaneous coronary intervention.

They say it's a "normal" procedure and they are expecting no big problems, but in medicine you cannot be too sure....

So, please, if you have some good thoughts to spare, karma boosters, prayers, good-luck charms, and so on, could you send them towards my direction? They would be extremely appreciated.

Hugs to all. I'll keep you informed.

Giorgio

k, I have waved my lucky charm in your direction , best wishes for your Mom.

my Dad is 82 with a pacemaker so I have been through the pass out and fall down thing myself .

TrekkieGrrrl ( ) posted Wed, 07 July 2010 at 6:54 PM

If it helps, then my mom is 81 and has had several stents put into her cardiac veins (hope it's the right terms...) to unblock them. She also has a pacemaker. And every time, the operations went smooth and flawless!

I'll keep my fingers crossed that the same thing will be true for your mom!

Update: the percutaneous coronary intervention has been performed successfully. The stent has been placed in her coronaric artery and my mother is very weak but more or less ok.

Now let's hope for a troubleless course. She should return home in a few days.
