Subject: 3ds import script problem in Blender 2.53 beta

DPHoadley is working on a complex model using Max and sends me 3ds files for comment. Version 2.49b opens them just fine. However, if I import them into version 2.53 beta, everything is jumbled up. I can recognise parts of the mesh, but they are scaled and orentated in various directions resulting in a complete mess.

My suggestion would be to import your 3ds file in Blender 2.49b (stable), save as .blend file, and then open that in 2.53beta... be curious to know if that works.  😄

Also, you might want to consider scaling up like x100, since Poser units are so tiny...

Thanks Robyn. Silly me had installed 2.53 over 2.49b and had to reinstall so I could have them side by side. I am eager to learn the new interface and learn to use more of the features.

So am I, Nanette... it all looks very promising, particularly some of the sculpting features. 😄
