Does anyone know if the background color bug in P8 (it may be in P2010 as well) was ever fixed? When you go to the display menu and choose background color and then pick a color, the background goes black instead of the chosen color. You're stuck with black, unless you go into the material room and change it from there.

I haven't tries SR3, since I didn't see it adding any improvement for me at all and SR2 with exception of this bug, works fine for me.

In Poser8 sr3 as well in poserpro2010 sr1 it has been fixed!
Just checked it.

I have Poser 8 with SR3 and Background Color from the Display menu appears to work correctly.

Windows 7 - 64 bit OS.

I never downloaded SR3.  However I have no problems changing background colors.  Have you used the background button on the bottom of the rendering screen?  Jan

I've never used that one Jan, but it works fine indeed. I always go to the menu, but this one is much faster to use. Thanks for the tip...... I've learned something today :-)

Thanks Aeikema, additional (as you probably discovered), the other buttons are quite neat too, eg from left to right, foreground , background , shadow , and ground color-when you pass the cursor over each one, look on the header on the top of the screen, it tells you what it is.  Also applies to those little fellas on the left bottom of the screen (though I don't use 'em).  Jan

I've been using Poser for over 10 years now and I've never used these little buttons on the right . They've been in that place since Poser 6, before that they used to be in a different place.

I have used the ones on the left at times..... somehow always overlooked the ones on the left, strange isn't it? At least you've saved me from going through an update.
