Subject: Help! Bump artifacts

Problem solved! Cause of the problem was global reflectivity.

Dear friends,

i notice there are a lot of artifacts in my bumpmapping work. These appear like white dots mimicking the shape of the bump map, this is not displacement mapping. When bump map removed, white dots disappear. I work with both multilayered aswell as mixed materials. Sometimes the artifacts are so many they destroy the picture, but other times its barely noticable. Help! I've found no cure so far. IT seems to have nothing to do with the color & alpha, just the shadowing of the bump map. This is like a bugged 255 value or something like that.

Thank you very much

kind regards,

Paul

The white was mirroring something then?  Hard to tell what's going on from that image.
