Probably true, except around the lips, according to Esther.

Personally, I have found V4 reasonably suitable for my needs, but then, I don't stray far from the sandbox. And gleefully purchase improvements to the figure like the shoulder-fix, only just because I've been able to get her to work well for me.

Whether V5 (if such a creature is in development) will be very attractive to me will depend a lot on how much of V4's stuff she's able to use without much mucking around with the mesh to get stuff to fit. Clothing quality has improved some since V4's been out, so a lot of my V3 stuff is in mothballs, but you wait until I get those folds and wrinkles sculpting working properly in the new Blender... V4's getting a really flash new wardrobe from her older sister.

will be interested to see what u come up with Robyn.
well V4 is okay for a lot of things and if rerigged plus no magnets - she would be quite good i bet.  i thought v3 had more potential (just because of her face morphs and muscularity in her limbs) but i see there are technical problems

*Hi patorak,

Don't quit!  Keep on going. But just remember, it's a long row to hoe, and mostly rock and gravel.

Thank you for the encouragement.  Questions are though...what do i do with the rocks and gravel and how do i make it easier for those planting the seeds behind me.

How can you ask such a question in a thread about a DAZ figure? Do you have no shame?

I dont know Pat, wish I did. Anton set an example, sorta opened the door. Although I dare say it took its toll on him. The rocks and gravel I suppose you just let them fall by the way side. Eventually they'll build up a protective fence. Just keep pushin on ahead, hopefully people will follow.

Sorry Pat, I'm not fit company right now, all doom and gloom.

cheers.

Is it possible to use V4's obj as a morph target for M4?  That way you lose the magnets.

Of course, you would then to re-rig her clothes, but if they are grouped the same, that shouldn't be too difficult...

It is likely possible to use M4 as a morph target for V4. But for work as fine tuned as JCM's are, not usable. Because the rigging and base shape are different, and even a small difference makes for huge problems when working with JCM's.

Quote - I think V4 has a lot of potential. If I were DAZ, I'd leave the mesh and the morphs as they are and concentrate on improving the rigging. As a Poser user I'm very sad to say this, but I'd probably also create my own rigging system within D|S and distribute a Poser-8-compatible version as a separate figure. I would definitely not support pre-8-Poser for the next generation of figures.

Tried to download the file for Antonia, but kept getting an error about the pathway not existing. Was going to try and do some free poses for her. Oh well. some other time, maybe.

Done! Thanks!

By the way, is there anyway to get a WardRobe Wizard File on her from PhilC?

Oh I wish so as well, Eclark. I am making her a shirt though. Oh, love your comics, buddy. Been reading them for some time now.

Try asking ODF if he can persuade Philc.

Isn't this a bit off-topic for this thread?

Phil can't do anything before the figure is finalized, so he's waiting for me to give him the go-ahead. I still need to do some checking on Antonia's CR2 before that, though.

My bad. I forgot where I was when I wrote it. I saw the  banner for Antonia, and well...

Sorry about that folks!

Asymmetries in the joint parameters, missing or incorrect channels, joint parameters that are set to different values in the two actors involved - that kind of thing. It's all too easy to mess up a CR2, and in a crunch, Poser can do it all by itself.

Hi patorak  :)

What would you like me to do?  I'm not much good at anything but rigging. I can texture a little. I can layout out some pretty decent UV's.

This a new project?  Looking good so far. Let me know whats up. I'm going to bed right now, was a long day.

Cheers.

Looks reasonably good - I could suggest a shader, but Bagginsbill's PR3 (the one that came with VSS) is heaps better than mine and much more versatile.
