From memory, and i think this is right... they had a newsletter on the e-on site that said something about the pricing policy, and i think, so dont quote me on this till i found the newsletter..., that it was going to be 249 dollars...
Ive upgraded on the same offer for exactly the same reason and i'm happy with it apart from the silly gui color in the function editor.
ill find that newsletter now.

this was their pricing scheme for 7 - 8 and 6 - 8
I would guess that they would charge more for updating older versions though as they are missing out on cash for a paid release.

Got the email about 50% off upgrades till Oct. 15th. Should I get 8 now or wait for 9? I'm leaning to getting 8 as I'm not sure I'll be able to afford the 9 upgrade till next year sometime. I wish I knew what the 9 upgrade price will be. Any thoughts?
