Subject: Need Help - Receive executable error when exiting poser 7

cybermuses ( ) posted Sun, 10 October 2010 at 2:09 AM · edited Sun, 02 February 2025 at 6:47 AM

I"m having issues with an executable error every time I try to exit Poser 7.  Here's the info.  Hope someone will be able to help me figure out what's wrong.

Here's some info:

  1. HP 4-Quad 64-bit system
  2. Recently upgraded to Windows 7
  3. Installed Poser 7 today.
  4. When to exit Poser 7, I receive an executable error.
  5. This happens every time.

Any one here able to help me?

Thanks.

Questions: does Poser actually close? Or does the system freeze? Which Poser 7 service pack do you have installed?

It's the Poser 7 service pack 3 update and it goes through a search process after the error message appears.  Appears to gather information to send to Microsoft.  Finishes and then I have to click the close button to exit out of the error message.  At this point, Poser closes entirely.

edited to ad:  my system doesn't freeze.  I can still do other things, it's just the program hangs, until I exit out of the error message.

You may find more information in the adminisytation logs. Get to it via Control Panel. In the application section or system section you should find the fault.  You can also go i at the message "send report to microsoft" there should be an option to see whats in the report.

Did this behavior start happening after a Poser crash? After Poser 8 crashed on me, I started getting the Mac equivalent of your error message (Poser Unexpectedly Quit) upon exiting Poser. The act of quitting normally caused it to "unexpectedly quit," if that makes any sort of sense. This has happened before after a crash, then it would go away after awhile. Somehow the crash caused P8 to do a mini-crash upon quitting (or opening a different scene while already in Poser).
