Subject: TV glow tutorial needed

Hi, I'm working on a scene which includes TV screens. Does anyone know of any good tutorials for how to create realistic looking light from the TV (including the screen itself), or have any tips. I've tried using various lights in Bryce 7 Pro, but I'm not getting anything I'm happy with. Sometimes the screen looks okay, but the surrounding TV casing doesn't look correctly lit from the light from the screen. I've tried adjusting the light size etc.

well in a normal setting, a screen doesnt really do much glowing. Any proper LCD screen these days is made to have just near-equal distribution of light across the whole screen so all you really need is a high ambience setting in the ambience channel. surrounding surfaces can pick up on that through reflection if truely needed (see attached link).

Also the light doesnt really bleed across the casing of a tv, the casing is usually just lit by the rest of the lightsources in the room rather then the screens it contains.

You could try putting a slight reflection on the texture of the screen but even reflectiosn are considered evil on most modern screens so those should be minimal too.

Thanks very much for yoru help  Rayaz:) I did think that the casing might be lit more from room lightsources but I wasn't sure. Great tip about the reflection on the texture of the scree - I hadn't though of that.
