Is it your own program? If it isn't, do you have the permission of the original coder to go in and mess with the code?
If it is your own, or an open source one giving open permission, there wouldn't be a problem. However, Someone just hacking into a program's code and changing it without the creator's permission isn't allowed so far as I know.
