Subject: Printer recommendation

I've just bought an Epson Office B1100 printer, it is much cheaper than most printers, not a true photo printer, but boy the colours from my images came out perfect on A3 glossy paper. The colours exactly matched those on my 24" HD screen. I cannot recommend this printer enough for Poser work. And it only takes 4 minutes to print a full colour A3 illustration using very little ink. Quite frankly it's the best damn printer I've ever had!

Question: How many cartridges does it have?  One of the problems I have is that one color (yellow) is used up faster than the rest and, even though the cartridge still has plenty of red and blue, I must buy another cartridge.  Jan

Jan. The printer has 5 individual cartridges. 2 black, + 1 each of Magenta, Cyan, Yellow. Users on amazon.uk give rave reviews, so have a look. There's also mention among the reviews of a suitable CISS ink system, and they sell a product from CityInk that looks as if it fits and works okay. Meanwhile, I've printed out six full colour A3 Poser pics and it barely shows on the ink monitor, if at all.

Word of warning though. When I use glossy paper I choose semi-gloss setting or the printer lays down too much ink. I guess I'd need a really heavy paper for full gloss.

Go to amazon.uk and see the comments. Search for Epson A3 printer, and there's the Office B1100.

Thanks Zippy, that's a goody, if a cartridge runs out one just has to purchase one color.  Jan
