Does Poser 2010 really render using 64-bit processing on the Mac?

Poser is not listed as being 64-bit in the utility program, "Activity Monitor," even though I'm on a Quad-Core Intel Xeon MacPro with 10 GB of memory and a graphic card that exceeds the requirements listed by Smith-Micro.

Could this have anything to do with how I've set my Render Process Preferences? Right now "Threads" are set at 8 and "Separate Process" is checked. I have never exactly understood though what those settings mean.

Thanks in advance,
Dkal

I believe them when they say the rendering part of poser pro 2010 is 64 bit.  I have a 12 core macpro and it renders quite fast when it renders to queue.

When rendering, look for "FFRender", not PoserPro.

FFRender should be running in 64-bit mode.

Yesterday's the past, tomorrow's the future, but today is a gift. That's why it's called the present.

Oh! I see. Thanks msg24_7.

I thought it might be something like that but didn't know what the process name would be. I think in Windows even the main application process is running in 64-bit. If so, then it's different on the Mac I guess.

Any thoughts on the way I've got the Render Process preferences set up? Not sure what the best settings would be because I'm not really sure what the render "threads" are, or what "separate process" means. Another Mac person who's running a dual-core MacPro said he set them up with "8" threads and to check "Separate Process."

Thanks again.
