Thank you guys!
It really was a nice surprise. Someone on the 1x.com site pointed out that he had found one of his images copied on another website, and when I looked at the link, I found one of mine too. Totally unexpected, but hey, in this case I don't mind ;o))
Mies, mine is not the image with the great textures and colors, but the monochrome image right beneath it (under my name).
By the way, this image was published on the 1x.com website (clicking on the image will take you there), where it got 21,254 views so far... the version of this image in my gallery here on Renderosity got 76 views. I know that quantity isn't everything, but still that's quite a bit of a difference in exposure...

You are proud…,YES!!!….., and you have all the reason to be! :)
I am so happy for you Geert. You deserve this shining light and hope you will be "surprised" like that, many, many more times. Congratulations !!!
Hmmmm … what about the celebration???

A nice collection of abstracts! I must say ... yours is the best one there. I'm not saying that because you're on RR, either. It's just so elegant and the light is just right. The only other image that touches it is the yellow paper. An equally elegant composition. When I scrolled down through the 25 images I saw things I liked, and I was thinking, "well, I'll see some nice thing Geert did." When I found yours, it stopped me cold! A most excellent image.
Congratulations!

Thank you Tofi, Tara and Tom (that's three T's).
I think simplicity can help abstraction quite a bit, but often simplicity is not the easiest thing to achieve...
My personal favorite of the bunch is the rainy window with the lights behind it by Gerard Sexton. Pure abstracts are so difficult to judge though...
