Subject: Looking for sword where blade can be morphed

Michaelab ( ) posted Sat, 18 December 2010 at 12:55 PM · edited Fri, 02 August 2024 at 8:00 AM

Hi,

Does anyone know where I can find a sword where I can change the angle of the blade to make it more of a long triangular shape? In other words, I need a sword where the blade is morphable, and it would be great if the handle were too. Free would be best, but I might pay for one if it was really morphable.

Thank you.

What exactly do you need? Could you draw the two things (unmorphed and morphed) so that we can see what you want :) It doesn't sound like something that is difficult to make, but I'm not quite sure how "triangular" you want it and how :)

Also since you want it morphable I assume it's for an animation and that you not simply need a sword with a triangular blade?

Attached Link: Omni Sword Super Prop

This is the only morphing sword that I know of.

Oooh and that one os in sale right now! Thanks Coldrake! I don't really have the need for a sword, but that one was too good to pass on... so now I'm the proud owner of a morphing sword and a Vickie. Anyone got a temple then?

Omni Sword Super Prop looks good. Does the sword morph into all those types shown? In other words did all those demo swords come from one sword object morphed into all these different shapes? If so, I'm buying it too.

TrekkieGrrrl, since you bought it, what I'm looking for is the ability for the sword to look like an extended V shape (the V upside down of course). Can it to that?

If you're looking for something like a cinqueda, Valandar's Build Your Own Sword Kit from Daz has such a blade, though it isn't a morph - the sword kit works as a series of props of different pommels, crossguards and blades attached to a handle figure. It looks good, though by default it loads with its centre of gravity far away from the handle figure, something which I dislike as I find it hard to predict what the rotation dials will do. You can adjust the COG, though.

I agree with everyone else that Omni's morphing sword looks great - pure fantasy, and it looks like a lot of fun to use. This and several other Omni products have been sitting on my wishlist for far too long.

bought the Omni sword thank you, but it has parts I want to remove. Is there a way to delete certain polygons or parts of this sword in Poser 8? The dials don't seem to do it.

You'll need to do what you can via creative use of transmaps or additional morphs from magnets or modelling. If you only wish to modify one shape and don't mind losing the ability to morph to other shapes, you can export and remodel in your preferred modelling app.
