Subject: Reminder - Java Script Scrolling images: STILL PAINFUL

3dstories ( ) posted Thu, 13 January 2011 at 10:33 AM · edited Thu, 28 November 2024 at 1:40 AM

Just a reminder to whomever it concerns, now that the holidays are over.

For archiving/indexing the images associated with an item when I buy a product:

I use both Firefox and IE on an XP 32 machine.  Unlike other vendors, on Renderosity I can only save the large top promo picture and the thumbnails by right clicking and hitting "save image as".   On the java script scrolling images there is still no way to archive them short of saving the whole html page and folder and then going back and pickingout the image later.

Look, RDNA has no problem whatsoever. Same for Daz.

It was a nice idea, and slicker presentation, but it just doesn't work for me. I very much appreciate all the vendors who are avoiding the scroll bar and are putting their images under the editorial tab. Thank you! Thank you!

If Renderosity wanted to fix my little problem (and I don't know if others still have this or have just given up putting their 2 cents in), please just have someone code it such that on the pull downs I can right click and save the large images.

Thank you.

Please try right clicking the thumb that you're interested in and select 'open link in new tab'.

In this new tab, you'll then have the ability to save the larger resolution image.

Hope this helps.

That helps quite a bit. I can verify it works in Firefox (Haven't tried IE yet).

Still twice as much clicking as just saving the image, which I can't imagine is that difficult to code into a tab.  Also, not obvious to the average user without some playing around. In the GUI coding I remember, it was just a matter of telling them which commands you wanted in the tabs (include the 'save image as' option). I guess I'm a bit insistent because I believe the real fix is sooo easy. I still recommend this highly.

Meanwhile, now an order of magnitude better than I was able to do before your suggestion.

Thank you, this was very helpful.
