Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 24 6:22 pm)
Some textures for Quarker's Grace Lion hair don't work straight away for me in P6. For some reason, although the texture loads fine, the strength is set to zero.
Maybe that's your problem.
Coppula eam se non posit acceptera jocularum.
I am clueless about the advanced functions in P7 but I did find the strength dial and it was set at 100. What I did was loaded a standard P7 figure and deleted it from the stage after checking the dial settings and that was how I found the strength settings, which I then used as reference for other elements loaded in the stage. Evrything else loaded fine w/o having to mess with the dial....except some of elements like the two mentioned here.
It reall has me flumoxed because there are other elements of the figure(s) in the stage that texture fine and some, like the two mentioned above that absolutely do not. :(

I think I may have gotten to the core of the problem. In Poser 7 it appears there are two tabs to apply textures to an object to in the MATERIALS Room:
MATERIALS
PREVIEW
Apparently for some reason I gotta set both?
Seems strange to me and a lot more convoluted than necessary. But I guess the guys that programed this version were either not stupid like me or just plain never used it before releasing it to stupids like me. :(
I just loaded the offending items in the stage seperately and textured them by hand and remembering that little texture applications-combo-tab-switchy-thingy in the MATERIALS setting window, I gave both views a texture and VOILA!
Now I can go take a shower I feel dirty from frustration and anger and all the terrible cursing I have done working on this problem.
I MISS POSER 4! :(

Help!
I am blundering through the P7 interface and I think I am losing my mind.
I am finding that some props I brouht over from P4 with their respective textures refuse to render with the textures but render white. One item Mitsu tails hair does that as does the old Lee Moon Genital props.
I have applied the textures by hand but nothing works. The textures worked fine in P4 and are standard simple .jpg files.
Also having mapping problems with th old ULF gen prop. It seems to not want to wrap correctly and there seems to be a section that has no texture as if the texture ran out of mateiral. Again, worked fine in P4 but in P7 it is driving me crazy trying to figure it out.
Anyone encounter this before or can give me some idea what it might be?
