Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 23 7:38 pm)
Why collisions? Wouldn't it be just as easy to place them where you want 'em?
Coppula eam se non posit acceptera jocularum.
How I'd do it in Wings, for example, is to make a few beans, slightly different from each other, save them as a group of objects, then keep merging them into a new file, changing their orientation each time. Sure, some would most likely intersect but you wouldn't really notice the ones in the middle of the pile. Once I had a satisfactory looking pile, scatter a few individual ones around.
Not as quick and easy - or accurate - as collisions, but a usable work around, IMO.

Ditto Sam. You only need the outer layer, appropriately situated, to get the effect.
(Unless you're going to make the food "spoonable", in which case it gets really complicated!)
For example, look at the clothespins in the bag in my Back Porch set.
(Not food, but geometrically similar to green beans!)

Quote - If you can get even somewhat into Blender, you can do this extremely easily. In fact, if you're willing to install Blender and briefly use it, ask here and I'll list the steps, requiring you to have virtually no knowledge of Blender :)
OK I'm downloading 2.49b for Mac now please give me the steps. Thanks

I am wondering why you don't use the cloth room in Poser? Clothify them with settings close to rubber (high stiffness) and let them drop one by one over each other and onto the plate.
Another alternative might be using Marvelous Designer. I know its meant for cloth/clothing but this seems right up its alley and might be done easily and quickly. Just a thought outside the "box".

That's nice but it is windows I said in the orginal post Mac ibook pro 10.5
Yea, oops, missed that. No, win only right now but they say there will be a mac version.

I don't know if it will run on any of the PC utilites on a Mac. I don't have a mac and don't have any experience even trying to run PC apps on one but I hear it can be done.

I want to make a bunch of green beans on a plate but my 3d software C3D. does not have collision using particles. I do have but am not familiar with Hexagon, Carrara 7 Poser 7 + 8. and Silo. Does anyone know if this is possible in any of those 3D programs. Thanks you answer is appreciated. Oh yeah I also have Vue 7 pro.
