you could also go the long way around if you just like to be complicated
set the regular camera's x y and z to all 0 then parent the camera to some primative also at 0. then move the primative around.
that actually does help for having to move the camera deep into a scene. you know say you have some building and you're not shooting near the center space. you can use point at on the camera to get the standard camera rotation around some object far from center, or just move the primative further.
go that way really fast.

I should know this, but I must be getting old-timers disease! I want to be able to rotate the camera in place, and not have it rotate around something (which i have no idea what). Basically, I want to be able to rotate with the camera staying put. I have tried everything I can think of, but it just won't do it. It's like the rotation point is not centered in the camera, but outside of it at some distance. How do I get the rotation point to the center of the camera again?
