Out of curiosity...do you use Facebook?
The same thing happened to my yahoo e-mail account...and I'm starting to see a pattern.
I visited Facebook last night for about 3 minutes to see a picture, and this morning I had realized my yahoo account had been hacked.
I Go to FB about once every month or so...and it seems like this kind of thing happens after I go there.
Any help would be welcomed.
Thanks
Tom

Well, I do have a facebook account, but I try hard not to use it.
Really I've stopped posting anything there myself and only go to facebook to see images that my 2 daughters post.
I did go there a couple of days ago to look at something my eldest daughter posted... hmmm..... I wonder.
How would one go about finding out?

Oh I didn't have to delete the account, I just changed the password and question. Simple really.
I wouldn't want to delete it anyway - it's a paid for account.

I posted about the same sort of thing in the Poser forum, I didn't really know where to post it but as most of my friends and adresses came through my using Poser thought that was the best place. Thanks Hawkfyr for directing me here!
No I never use Facebook, but probally the last thing I did before going to sleep on Tuesday night was put in an order at an online store, whether that had anything to do with it I don't know.
AGentleMuse,
Probably not, I haven't bought anything online for about 4 or 5 months. So it wasn't that that caught me.
I think this is just a sort of digital version of a chain letter, and you don't need to agree to send anything onwards - the beastly bug program does that behind the scenes.
and once I've opened that fatal email - all my contacts get the same thing and they open one and then all their contacts get it and so on and so on. Completely pointless and mindlessly silly.
I think that on this occasion, we are lucky that it wasn't any worse than silly.
Sigh....

Hi all,
I just today had my hotmail account broken into and everyone on my contacts list was sent emails - please don't open any from me with the word's "No Subject" in the subject field - best to just delete any from me today - Tuesday 15th March.
All is now fixed so from tomorrow (I'm resisiting sending emails today!) all will be well again if anyone gets an email from me.
Fran
(I've only sent this message to my 3 main forums, sorry for the repeats but I needed to warn people I might have in my contacts list)
