After this, I think more thought needs to be put into the sighting of Nuclear plants in high incidence earthquake zones. There are certain areas of the globe at extreme risk of devastating earthquakes like this one and other areas of little or no risk. International communities should work together more to help with power if a Country are in a high risk area and have no other realistic alternatives.
Injustice will be avenged.

I always wondered whether heroism is having a too large supply of guts or having not enough guts to run away, knowning that you will be labeled a coward. In my case it would be the second case: too coward to act like a coward...
About power just two figures: mankind eletrical energy production is about 60 Exa Joules per year, Sun power plastered on earth is about 4 MILLION Exa Joules per year. The sun won't have output problems for the next billion years.
The only reasons for our energy choices are:
1- there are interest groups which want to keep the world concerned with political situation of Middle East (otherwise we could simply forget about the fate of a nation I will leave un-named...),
2- trying to stealthy build nukes (e.g. what a group of assholes is trying to do now, to fight the un-named you-know-who, which, in turn, is busily building its own nukes since the 1960's...).

guess DOS was some extortion attempt? meh, been readign about such for some time, SOBS attacking a site who won't pay "vigorish" ugh
Alex yeah the energy companies have been actively stopping the use of microgeneration of power by users, so they corporations can stay rich
if we had wanted revenge for 9/11 we should have invaded Pakistan and Suadi Arabia which is where the SOBS really came form/got fudned, trianed etc, but Saudia ha soil and Pakistna has nukes so hey....
Japan has been hit twice by similar massive tsunamis in the past, last being about 860AD, now some idiots "beliebve" in "bean counters", and think that oh that 1000 year risk isn't worth botheirng about...they are morons! towns and cities exist for centuries, millenia! You HAVE to think on those time scales.
Putting a nuclear reactor that low on the coast of an earthquake zone is therefor CRETINOUS.
USA West coast hs low risk of tsunamis as San ANdreas and most faults are inland and of wrong type etc to create a tsunami. But building reactors near such faults is again, cretinous (and I mean "near" as is in 50 to 150 miles away depending on type/severity of fault and asociated risks, not within a mile or less!!)

Dear silverblade33, while California coast is decently tsunami-free, the northern part of the pacific US coast is in front of the Cascadia fault and they have to get ready for a good swim. Anyway, our Yank friends need not feel bad because they are blessed by something even more delicious than just a megaquaketsunami: Yellowstone caldera (VEI 8, a planet-wide killer).
While we are on the subject of supervolcanoes I want to remind everybody that here in Italy, apart from postcard stuff like the Etna or Vesuvio, we have the Campi Flegrei (VEI 7!).
A "conspiracy theory" about the "DOS attack": what if, instead of an attack, it was just a royal snafu in the server administration and they are too ashamed of admitting it? Following Napoleon advice, I always check first if things can be adequately explained by sheer idiocy.
Bye...
P.S.: Japanese workers are just doing what japanese people do in these situation: fight, and die, like samurais.
P.P.S.: about conspiracy theories: in the 1950s/1960s there was a widespread conspiracy theory, rejected by any sensible person: that the Mafia had a centralized control structure. Please, tell me how one could even dream such a demented hypothesis...

Eon has gone back to their less newer web site design. Maybe they'll try getting their new site up again later. Patched this time.

And this vindicates my suspects. No DOS attack, just plain programming/administration mess.
Napoleon was right: he lost Waterloo because Ney went around by his whim (and not followed orders) and therefore arrived on the battlefield when Blucher's arrival had already turned the tide beyond repair. Had Ney been on time, Napoleon would have smashed Wellington by noon and Blucher could only have covered (somehow) the retreat of the allies toward Bruxelles.

"One of our servers was fried during the DOS attack and the data base was corrupted. We're having to restore everything manually, and it is taking time. Sorry for the interruption - we hope to be back online shortly."
Go look for your selves, folks.
