Agree with Les... the morphing tool can do wonders here...

Thanks, it's actually a window. I want the object (slug-like) to stay on the one side of the glass but as I move it around it acts as though the glass isn't there...just pushes through it. Is there no way to make an object "solid" so other objects can't pass through them?
One thing nobody mentioned is the "Collisions" option. Having never used it myself I don't understand the functionality but I think it may help with what you're trying to achieve. At least, the "not passing through" part of it. The flattening effect is something else, and probably best realized with morphs, as mentioned previously.
As you can gather from the posts here, there's no simple way to make an object "solid", ie, impenetrable. Since they're just a bunch of numbers specifying vertices, there's no real way to do it.
Something just occurred to me...
The Cloth Room does treat objects as if they were solid. With several limitations.
Again, I have no idea if it would work but I have a feeling the Cloth Room may be of use to flatten your slug against the window. There may be a way to clothify the slug so that it looks flattened in places.
Coppula eam se non posit acceptera jocularum.
One thing that I have done to make an object flat is to use the X, Y, orZ scale to flatten.
I think that PhilC has a python script to do this.
If you use the X,Y, or Z scale you can do this at any point along the antimation and have it
change back at any point.
skee.

large
number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced.
I'm not sure the coth room will work since the slug is moving up the window and gravity will pull it down. You would probably be better off with a magnet or morph

I'm doing an animation where I want one object to interact with another. Basically an object crawling up a wall and I want it to flatten where it meets the wall, not push through it like the wall isn't there.
Can anybody offer some assistance?
