Subject: Preview window rotates slow in certain documents?

Zev0 ( ) posted Wed, 30 March 2011 at 4:22 PM · edited Tue, 23 July 2024 at 2:09 AM

I am very confused. I load my one doc which just contains v4 and a lot of morphs and when I rotate the camera its smooth. Then for example I start a new document with just a base figure, rotate it and it crawls like 3 frames per second. Both Preview settings are the same. Any Ideas?

the only thing I can think of is, you'll still have any textures loaded from the previous scene, plus any you've then loaded for the new one. (poser's annoying that way, you have to restart it to flush unused ones out)

Airport security is a burden we must all shoulder. Do your part, and please grope yourself in advance.

That happens to me from time to time when a scene has one or more items with extremely high vertex counts.  But it doesn't sound like that should apply, in your case.

Is it consistent and recurring?  If you close Poser and restart, does it still happen with the same scene?  😕

Still happens after restart. For example. I load my saved doc with v4 and morphs, works fine. Close poser, start new doc and open v4 from library, and it is sluggish...and thats just the base morph...open my saved doc with v4, and its fine again. Now even when I import a new figure onto my saved doc its sluggish again...

What is in your default scene?  Is it only happening with V4?  Are there any Python scripts being run as startup scripts?  Are you using external binary morphs?  What version of Poser are you using?

As you can see, I'm just kind of throwing guesses out there.  I'm not sure what to suggest, with the current information.  The more you can tell us, the more likely it is that someone here will figure things out.  But you might want to contact SM about it, too.

Does it happen after you have working for some time?  You might try edit/ clear cache.
