Some interesting comments in the first one and I'll check some others later. Thank you! I intend to do some of this very soon.
One idea if confronted with someone who demands you delete their photo (which they have no right to demand), is that I can quickly make a "D" corrected copy of the image, then laboriously let them watch while I delete that image with my Nikon D300. It takes only two presses of one button which they would never see you do, in order to create that jpg image from the raw one. Once you press the delete key while they watch, you quickly turn the camera back away from them and your original is still there. I have done this very successfully. If they want another look, tell them it's gone and none of the others are their business.
interesting trick...or you could just walk away and ignore them..or..just delete it because I don't want any bad ju ju on my camera...know what I mean? I'll just delete it if someone asks.. (unless it's THAT good)..and move on to the next shot..

I'll get to some of those websites when I have more time...ha ha ha
I do have a concern though about using photos of unknown people. If they are just part of the landscape it doesn't bother me but if I want to use a shot that shows someone's face quite clearly, do I need a "release form" or something? I've wanted to ask this question for some time and was ging to go to Morguefile or some other upload/download site because I remember there was some discussion on the subject, ...about ten years ago....
Leonie.
OK, question answered. The first site, by Eric Kim, says about all I want to know.
As far as I'm aware there is no law in Australia about street photography, but, litigation seems to be a new world-wide passtime. I'll take my photos and wait to see if I get sued. Now...who was it that said all publicity is good publicity? ;-)
Chances are, it would never become an issue..unless I make money from it..and the individual knows this..till then, I'll keep shooting

I have a very strong interest in street photography..Now that the weather is getting warmer, I'd like to spend more time doing that.. I've posted some shots of this genre.
HERE and also HERE
I started looking around for some tips and advice on the subject. The thing I find interesting, is everyone says something different..Some say use a wide angle..some say a prime, while others say telephoto..One piece mentioned leaving the DSLR behind..That kinda makes sense to me..I need a Range Finder !!! LOL
Anyway...I thought I'd share some of what I found with everyone..each one makes a few valid points. As in most things..you have to learn what you can from others, then follow your own path.
Enjoy
