Subject: Multiple win7 Poser links error

Zev0 ( ) posted Sun, 10 April 2011 at 5:18 AM · edited Mon, 02 September 2024 at 2:15 AM

Hi guys. I have a small problem. I have two windows7 OS installed. One is 32bit and the other 64. Now each one has Poserpro2010 installed. Here is where the problem comes in. I save my runtime with all my content in an external folder on my secondary drive where both can access it. Now when working in win7-32bit, the linking works fine. Eg choosing a morph or a skin texture set. However when I try using the same file with my win7-64bit, it does a search and cannot find the file, or it loads saying it is out of memory or cannot find the missing files, or it applies it with missing textures. Also when I save a document in the 64-bit and open it in my 32-bit windows there is no issues. But if I create a scene in win32 and open it in win64 then it loads with missing textures. This does not happen with all files, but is enough to drive me crazy. Anybody have a solution for this?

I'm guessing here, but it'll give you something to try until the experts come along. Double check and make sure when yo are running the 64 bit, if you are using external runtimes, that you have all the paths set correctly .

When you do an install of PP2010 under 64bit OS you are given an option during the procedure to deselect the 32bit app.  It is easily missed, and if you do not read every panel then you will install both versions.  I would uninstall and reinstall the software to correct the problem.  A pain, of course, but less confusing.

It only has the 64-bit version loaded under the win764-bit. I failed to mension that I use shaderworks library and xl library, instead of poser's ^&%** browser. Dont know if that makes any difference.
