If you click below the dates at the left side links, you can see the top 20 selling books on the Japan Amazon site for the past half dozen years. I was very surprised to see anatomy books at the top for all the years. They'd be nowhere near the top in the US. It makes me wonder whether Japanese students all get anatomy lessons as part of their school drawing classes. I never had any when I went to school. Otherwise, it would be hard to imagine that so many people in Japan are artistic enough to want to know how to draw more anatomically correct figures. It was also interesting to see Alice in Wonderland being one of their biggest sellers in a lot of years. I can only guess that the Tim Burton movie generated a renewed interest in the book.

Search for Poser and the different Japanese versions and books will show up. I wonder if the figure on the cover of Poser 8 is available. It looks a lot better than Miki3.

Japan Amazon, of course, will have the widest selection of Japanese art and anime books.

The one big downside of ordering from Amazon Japan is that the shipping is very high. Shipping is roughly $34 plus $3.80 for each book. Book prices are often a lot cheaper than in stores outside of Japan. There's also a 5% discount for international orders since their store prices build in their 5% sales tax. Books I wanted were priced at $50 in the US and Japan Amazon was selling them for $35, so it wasn't too hard to find enough to make it economical to buy from them even with the high shipping.
