Subject: FBM Pose Setting Script?

I'm working on illustrating a story, and I'd like to create poses containing the settings for each of the characters so I can quickly reproduce them without saving the entire figure with morphs and stuff. 

Is there a script out there that will do all of this for me? What I'm hoping for is to have it strip out any dials of zero and save the pose file with only the changed dials so it won't reset position or expression, etc. I can write this myself if it doesn't exist...but don't want to rebuild the wheel if it exists. Ideally, it would even add the injection commands where appropriate so that the user doesn't have to have load any unnecessary morphs. I expect that part I will have to write, since it's probably a little more complicated.

I don't know of a script that will do exactly what you are asking for, but I do know of a script that may help "SpawnCharacterP6 update" by svdl.

What the script does is to create a new INJ morph that is a consolidation of all the morphs expressed in the figure. The new morph has an FBM dial in the BODY, it does not need any other morphs or morph packs to be injected into the figure, as the deltas are contained in the INJ pz2. It's a quick and easy way to apply a full body (or partial) character morph to your figure. It also has the advantage of saving resources, as only one morph needs to be injected into the figure. As the pz2 produced contains deltas, it can't be redistributed if any of the morphs used were copyrighted.

One limitation of the script is that the figure needs to contain DAZ style PBMCC channels, but the morphs that are being consolidated can have unique none PBMCC names. If your figure does not contain PBMCC channels you can add them. If you need help on how to do that, ask me.

That's pretty cool, I'll have to take a look. That does make super conforming clothes not work though, so I don't know if it will work for what I am looking for.

I have never used it with super conforming cloths, but just of the top of my head I'd say whilst the clothing is conformed you should be able to treat it in the same way as the character figure, making a consolidated INJ for the clothing as well as the character. That would not be super conforming, you would have to apply the INJ manually. If there were a lot of clothing items it could become a drag. And of course the clothing would need PBMCC channels.

Hang on a minute, I'd forgotten about a hack I did of a script by svdl. This script only saves data for valueParm (FBM) channels, or at least that's what it's supposed to do, my Python skills are very minimal so I can't absolutly guarantee it will always work correctly, but it seemed to work OK for me. It may be closer to what you are looking for.

 

You will need to loose the ".TXT" part of the file extension.

I'm looking into this right now. Thanks so much!

My goal isn't to distill them into one. I just want to load only the appropriate morphs for a given character to minimize memory where I can. If I keep them loaded individually, I can tweak them appropriately for the pose/clothing item. Plus, super conforming items will work. And those that aren't super conforming...well, I can eventually get them to fit, depending on the character:)
