Subject: Realflow and vue

Hello guys

 

I want to ask something about the software realflow and vue...I couldn t find the realflow section (probably there isn t any)so i put my question here.Well,from this day on i will start practicing with realflow till i can use it (i know it s not that easy but i will).The thing is i don t know if the result can be imported to vue.For example assume that i want to make a floud in a landscape.Realflow will do the floud and vue will do the landscape.Can those two results coexist in one scene ???

It is possible, but it can be a pain to be honest.

You will need an infinite version of Vue, since E-On decided that everyone should pay to use Python scripts which funnily enough there are only 1 or 2 on their website.

I've been studying the possibility of doing the same, and for what i know, it's very hard to integrate the realflow water to vue (although possible) but i think maybe you could try to integrate both in a software like Maya. to be honest i simply gave up.

If you have an infinite version, its not actually hard to do, especially if any objects in your scene are imported into Realflow.

One you get that down it is straight forward but a steep learning curve. Realflow itself I found quite easy to use, depending on your version, I was using version 4. The problem comes in aligning everything once you get it loaded into Vue.

Its a shame no one made a proper plugin for it.

Hey guys.Thank you ALL for your answers.To be honest 2 days ago i started using houdini yo make water simulation (which seems much easier than realflow).So what do you say now?Thanks again

I've got houdini, when they done it on that special price thing, never used it though so couldnt comment on that one mate sorry.

Needed because the two scripts that exist are only usable in Infinite and XStream due to the way Eon locked down Python in the lower editions.

Only Eon could really do a tight integration, due to the need to access licence locked geometry etc.
Integration at this level would also likely mean that support wouldn't be available for Blender.
