Subject: Crashsave in poserpro2012, New or did it exist already?

bopperthijs ( ) posted Thu, 13 October 2011 at 5:24 PM · edited Wed, 28 August 2024 at 4:08 AM

I was working on an old poserfile I did some years ago, I wanted to add some a new shader with SSS in it and to add some custom morphs in it. I got an error warning when I injected the morphs, perhaps there was something wrong with the PMD-file I made. When I tried to save the file poser crashed, and when I tried to reopen the file it was completely messed up. I was pretty sick about because it was one of favourites and I couldn't find a backup (Stupid, stupid, stupid). But later I found  the file with the addition pz_Sav in front of it. I was really pleased about this, but I wonder: did this exist allready or is it a new poserpro2012 feature? If it is, this would really be an improvement! Has anyone noticed this before?

best regards,

Bopper.

There have been issues with PMD files in the most current versions of Poser.  It wouldn't surprise me if that is still the case.  That is way many users are shying away from using PMD's altogether.

Obviously that was happening to me, but I didn't know that poser made a recovery file after such an error, that was new to me.

I've had PZ_sav files appearing in at least PP2010. Not sure if it was a feature of Poser 8 and 7 ect... But I do have a few of them floating around so it's not a new thing to PP2012 :)

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA

I didn't noticed it before, perhaps I'm just lucky. Untill now I rarely had any severe crashes.

Thanks for the info, it's a good feature anyway.

Bopper.
