hello,

 

My computer finally broke down for good.

 

I am going to buy a replacement.

 

On my old comuter rendering times were excessive. In order to avoid this what specification should I ask for on my new computer.

Windows 7

64 Bit

I am going to buy a desktop not a laptop.

Any advice appreciated

I have windows 7 64 bit and P pro 2010 renders very fast. your processor needs to have  a good speed above 3.0 and 4 gigs or more memory.I am running an I 7 960 3.2 processor and 9 gigs of memory

 

another important thing is not to let other unnecessary applications run with start up as they will hog your processor.I do not use Daz studio for that very reason that it wants to run all the time

 

I have read in a computer magazine that some I 5 has actually out performed I 7

 

you have an advantage in that newer computers has the new Sandy Bridge  processors and they work faster than mine. I have no complaints other that I have too many products in Poser (50 gigs) plus some more stuff I just bought.the only issue is that poser takes a few seconds to open the files.
